    3.The Banna mountain is at the convergence of two rivers, the Liusha and the Lancang, facing Jinghong across the river. The mountain with shady century-old trees is now a research base of China's Experimental Center for Primates in Yunnan. It used to be a palace Mengle royal palace in history, with cultural relics including the 400-year old Tazhuangmofo pagoda, allegedly a stupa for burying remains of Sakyamuni, and the site of a limpid, drinkable old spring well. The well, allegedly chiseled by the Buddha with his magic cane near a rock, survives all droughts and floods and remains transparent in the same water level. Tourists can stroll in the tree-sided path and view the rare primates. They can also have a swim, go chess, play cards, or go to a nightclub activity. Standing by the railing around the River-viewing pavilion, they can even overlook the myriad twinkling lights of the entire Jinghong city.
