1.Ganlanba ("Olive
Basin") is a basin where Menghan town government is located.
Only 28km from Jinghong, it is accessible from Jinghong bus station
(buses to the town leave at 6:30 a.m., 7:20 a.m., 8:20 a.m., and
9:00 a.m.) and Banna bus station (buses to the town leave at 12:20
p.m. and 1:20 p.m.). In the town are ethnic craftwork shops, restaurants
and hotels. After the trip, tourists can return to Jinghong by taking
a Menghan-Jinghong, Mengla-Jinghong or Menglun-Jinghong bus. Tourists
can also go to Ganlanba by boat (30km) along the Lancang river and
view the scenery of the river banks, and then return to Jinghong
by bus after the trip.
2.Daluo town is 80km from Menghai county
seat and 134km from Jinghong. It is accessible from Jinghong by
bus on daily basis. Buses from Jinghong bus station leave at 7:20
a.m., 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:40 p.m.,
1:40 p.m., 2:40 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.; and those from Banna bus station
leave every 20 minutes during the day from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In Daluo town and its development zone are a cross-border market,
restaurants, hotels and inns. If you want to cross the border and
experience exotic scenery and folkway at Menglar a Myanmar city
neighboring Daluo town, you can go through cross-border formalities
at local travel agency simply with your ID card and visit the city
with a tour guide sent by the travel agency. After the trip, tourists
can return to Jinghong by taking a Daluo-Jinghong bus. Buses at
the station leave every hour during the day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m.
